The origin of the name “Nazarí”: The Arabs established themselves in Spain in the year 711 and remained there until 1492, almost 800 years. That of the Nazaries was their last dynasty. They were nature lovers and very careful with their people. They were the most advanced civilization of their time. People came from all over Europe to learn from them: arts, science and general knowledge. In 1492, when the Arabs were driven out of Spain, the Catholic Monarchs, Isabella and Ferdinand of Castilla and Aragon, started the conquest and colonization of America. The ships’ crews that were left over to colonize were nothing else but “mozarabs” (Arabs christianized). Language and costumes came with them and rooted among Latin American people.

Another connotation of the names “Rincón” and “Nazarí”
An epitaph crowns Nazari’s tomb in a corner of the Reserve. This corner is, in addition, a very peculiar habitat of the city, where the Local Reserve, a no-traffic street, the Itá creek and the Paraná River come together. In addition it is also a shelter corner vindictive of the Nazaríes.
